No one should die of a brain tumor. So easy and yet so difficult is our goal.
To achieve this goal, a lot of hard work and research lies ahead of us. Along the way to the goal, there are also hours, days and years of loss of quality of life, operations, chemotherapy and radiation. For both patients and relatives, everyday life is turned upside down when someone in the family is diagnosed with a brain tumor. Nothing is as before, most of everyday life is automatically set aside for the brain tumor and the shock it causes.
The purpose of the Brain Tumor Association is to conduct peer work, information work, advocacy work and support for research, for the benefit of those affected and their relatives. The Brain Tumor Association receives public support and funding from the Norwegian Cancer Society, but to strengthen our work, we are still dependent on financial contributions from members and others. All gifts earmarked for research will be used in line with the earmarking. Research funds will be collected until they constitute a large enough sum that they can be announced as research grants or can be transferred to ongoing projects such as partial funding.
At present, the Norwegian Brain Cancer Network and a future establishment of the Norwegian Brain Cancer Center are our main area of focus. In order to achieve the goal, financial support is needed to be able to let the best in Norway conduct their research and offer patients experimental treatment. We simply cannot wait for the public sector to come up with the breakthroughs, we must stand together in a strong team to get results faster.
The Brain Tumor Association has been approved by the Collection Control and is affiliated with the Norwegian Cancer Society.
